JoinBrands Alternative for Agencies: Flat-Priced UGC Platform with No Fee on Creator Pay

JoinBrands Max costs $499 a month and adds 8% to every creator payment, so your platform bill climbs every time a client orders more content. AgencyUGC is one flat plan per month, with a workspace per client and nothing added on top of creator pay.

Short answer

AgencyUGC is the JoinBrands alternative for agencies that quote clients a fixed retainer. JoinBrands Max is $499 a month plus an 8% platform fee on every creator payment, with $150 a month returned as credit, so an agency moving $10,000 of creator pay spends about $1,149 a month on the platform. AgencyUGC Plus is a flat $149 a month for 10 client workspaces and takes nothing from creator pay.

JoinBrands is still the better pick when you need its 4M+ creator pool, TikTok Shop and Amazon shoppable video formats, or payments handled inside the marketplace. If those are what your clients buy, stay. If the problem is a platform cost that moves with client volume, the flat model fixes it.

$499 + 8%

JoinBrands Max

The only JoinBrands tier with White Label Shareable Links. Includes 10 team users and $150 a month of Roll Over Cash toward creator payments, so the fixed part nets to $349.

$149/mo

AgencyUGC Plus

Ten client workspaces, three seats, per-client reporting dashboards and client invoices. $888 billed yearly, which works out to $74 a month.

$1,000

Gap at $10k creator pay

At $10,000 a month of creator pay, JoinBrands Max nets to about $1,149 a month against $149 on Plus. Over a year that is $12,000 you either absorb or pass to clients.

JoinBrands figures come from its own published pricing page, re-checked in September 2026. It offers 10% off for annual billing, which lowers Max to $449.10 a month but does not change the 8% fee. Verify the numbers before you switch. AgencyUGC prices are our current published plans.

Side by side

AgencyUGC vs JoinBrands for an agency running a client roster

Both get creator content made. The difference is what happens to your margin when you resell that content to clients at a markup, and how much of the marketplace the client can see.

Creator payments Agreed directly with the creator at the rate on their profile Handled inside the marketplace, which is what the fee pays for

JoinBrands wins four of these rows outright: logo branding, creator pool, content formats and in-platform payments. We left them in because an agency choosing a platform for a year of client work needs the rows that go against us too.

What changes

What a flat, agency-first platform changes about reselling UGC

Content quality is not the issue with JoinBrands. The issues are margin, client separation and what leaks into the client's view.

Margin

Your platform cost stops tracking client volume

An 8% fee means a client who doubles their monthly video order also doubles what you pay the platform on their account. A flat plan holds still, so the markup you quoted in the retainer is the markup you keep.

Rates

Clients see your rate, not the creator's

Client reports and invoices are priced at the client rate you set for that account. The creator's wholesale rate stays inside your agency, which is the number most resellers least want a client to find.

Separation

One workspace per client

Briefs, shortlists, deliverables and usage rights live inside the client they belong to. An account manager working on one brand is not scrolling past another brand's campaigns to find theirs.

Rights

A usage-rights log on every deliverable

Each approved asset records what was licensed, for how long and for which placements. When a client asks whether last spring's video can run as a paid ad in November, the answer takes seconds.

Reporting

Per-client dashboards and invoices on Plus

Campaigns, deliverables, approval rate and spend per client, plus a downloadable invoice at your client rate. Pro adds one view across every client and an ROI export in CSV.

Evaluation

Judge the matching before you sign up

The brief builder at the top of this page runs without an account. Put in a brief you already ran on JoinBrands and compare the creators that come back with the ones you actually hired.

How it works

From client brief to a deliverable the client can approve

1

Write the brief

Choose platform, content type, niche and budget for one client. Matched, vetted creators come back straight away.

2

Invite from the client workspace

Send the brief to your shortlist. Terms, messages and files stay attached to that client only.

3

Approve and log rights

Review deliverables and revisions, then record the license term and placements on each approved asset.

4

Report at your client rate

Export an unbranded brief or report, send the client invoice on Plus, or share the Pro client status page with an access code.

Who switches

Three agencies that outgrow JoinBrands pricing

The agency past $5,000 a month of creator pay

At that spend the fee on Max is $400 a month on its own, and it keeps rising with every video your clients add. The flat plan was cheaper several thousand dollars ago.

The agency selling a fixed monthly retainer

Your client pays the same number every month while your platform cost moves with their content order. That gap comes straight out of the account's margin, and it is widest on your best clients.

The agency marking up creator content

If a client ever sees the creator's actual rate, the conversation about your markup starts. Client-rate reports and invoices keep that number where it belongs.

What does JoinBrands really cost an agency?

JoinBrands Max, the tier most agencies need, costs $499 a month and adds an 8% platform fee to every creator payment. It returns $150 a month as Roll Over Cash toward creator pay, so the fixed part nets to $349 a month and the total is $349 plus 8% of whatever your clients spend on creators.

That formula is fine for a brand buying content for itself. For an agency it means the platform line on your P&L is a function of your clients' content orders. Here is what it looks like across a roster, against the two AgencyUGC plans an agency would actually choose.

Creator pay per month (whole roster)JoinBrands Max (net of credit)JoinBrands Pro (net of credit)AgencyUGC PlusAgencyUGC Pro
$2,000$509$409$149$499
$5,000$749$709$149$499
$10,000$1,149$1,209$149$499
$20,000$1,949$2,209$149$499

JoinBrands Pro is $299 a month with a 10% fee and $90 of credit, so it nets to $209 plus 10%, and it has no White Label Shareable Links. Creator pay itself is excluded from every column because you pay creators on either platform. The table compares only what the software costs you. For JoinBrands' tier-by-tier breakdown, including when the Free and Start-up plans are cheapest, see our JoinBrands review for agencies.

Does JoinBrands take a percentage of creator pay?

Yes. JoinBrands adds a platform fee to each creator payment: 15% on the Free pay-as-you-go tier, 12% on Start-up, 10% on Pro and 8% on Max. The fee sits on top of the rate the creator earns, so it is a cost to you, and it grows in direct proportion to how much content your clients order.

JoinBrands frames the Roll Over Cash credit as cashback that offsets the subscription, and for a brand that is fair. Credits accumulate while you stay on a paid plan and are lost if you cancel or drop to Free. For an agency the credit is a fixed $150 while the fee is open-ended. At $1,875 a month of creator pay, the 8% fee equals the credit. Above that, every extra client video costs you more on the platform line.

AgencyUGC does not add a fee to creator payments. You agree the rate with the creator at the price on their profile, and your plan price is the entire platform cost. That is why the AgencyUGC columns in the table do not move.

What are the best JoinBrands alternatives for agencies?

The best JoinBrands alternative depends on which part of JoinBrands is the problem. If it is the percentage fee, pick a flat-priced platform. If it is marketplace depth or paid social plumbing, a larger marketplace like Insense fits better. If you want to buy finished videos without managing creators, a per-video service like Billo does that.

We have written up the two closest comparisons in full: the Insense alternative for agencies page covers the $800 Agency plan and its $100 per extra brand, and the Billo alternative for agencies page covers the per-video model. GRIN is a different category, an influencer and affiliate program tool, and its new credit-based plans are broken down in GRIN pricing for agencies.

Is JoinBrands worth it for agencies?

JoinBrands is worth it for agencies that need scale and formats more than margin control: a very large creator pool, TikTok Shop lives, Amazon shoppable videos and creator payments handled for them. It is poor value for agencies with steady, high creator spend on fixed retainers, because the 8% fee on Max grows with every client order.

A useful rule: add up last quarter's creator payments across all clients and divide by three. If the monthly number is under about $2,000 and you rarely need white-label links, the fee is small and JoinBrands' marketplace is a reasonable trade. If it is over $5,000, the fee alone is larger than a flat plan, and the gap widens from there.

What JoinBrands does better than AgencyUGC

Creator volume. JoinBrands reports more than 4 million creators and affiliates. Our vetted pool is smaller and newer. If a client needs forty creators in a narrow niche this week, the bigger marketplace is the safer bet.

Commerce formats. TikTok Shop videos, TikTok Shop lives billed per minute, and Amazon shoppable videos are listed on every JoinBrands tier. Agencies whose clients sell mainly through TikTok Shop or Amazon get real value from that.

Payments and logo branding. The fee buys payment handling inside the marketplace, which is less admin than agreeing rates directly. JoinBrands' agency page also describes your logo on dashboards and reports. AgencyUGC exports carry no AgencyUGC branding and client reports never show creator rates, but there is no logo upload.

Where AgencyUGC wins is narrower: a platform cost you can put in a twelve-month retainer, a workspace per client by default, and client-facing numbers at your rate instead of the creator's. The white label UGC platform page shows exactly what each tool hides from a client and what it does not.

How to switch from JoinBrands without a gap in client work

  1. Finish live campaigns where they are. Creator payments and disputes already running on JoinBrands should close there. Start new work on the new platform instead of moving jobs mid-flight.
  2. Spend your Roll Over Cash first. JoinBrands says the balance is lost when you cancel or drop to Free. Use it on your last round of creator payments before you downgrade.
  3. Test one client brief. Put a brief you already ran into the builder at the top of this page and compare the matched creators with the ones you hired. If the match is not good enough for that client, do not switch that client.
  4. Set up one workspace per client. Add the brand rules, the client rate you bill, and the usage-rights terms you use, so reports and invoices come out right from the first deliverable.
  5. Cancel at the end of a billing cycle. JoinBrands monthly plans have no lock-in, and downgrades take effect at the next cycle, so pick the date after your last payment run.

If you are building a retainer from scratch rather than migrating one, start with what UGC creators charge in 2026, then check the plan that matches your client count on the AgencyUGC pricing page.

Frequently asked

Questions agencies ask before they switch

For agencies on fixed client retainers, AgencyUGC is the closest fit: a flat $149 a month for 10 client workspaces or $499 for unlimited, with no fee on creator pay. For paid social whitelisting, Insense is stronger. For finished videos without managing creators, Billo's per-video model works.
Most agencies use Max at $499 a month, or $449.10 billed annually. Max adds an 8% platform fee to every creator payment and returns $150 a month of Roll Over Cash, so the platform cost is $349 plus 8% of creator pay. At $10,000 of monthly creator pay that is about $1,149 a month.
Yes. JoinBrands charges a platform fee on each creator payment: 15% on Free, 12% on Start-up, 10% on Pro and 8% on Max. It is added on top of what the creator earns. AgencyUGC charges no percentage, so the plan price is the whole platform cost.
AgencyUGC Plus costs a flat $149 a month, which is less than JoinBrands Pro or Max at any creator spend: Max nets to $509 at $2,000 of creator pay and $1,149 at $10,000. JoinBrands' Free and Start-up tiers only cost less while monthly creator pay stays under about $1,000.
It is good for agencies that value a 4M+ creator pool, TikTok Shop and Amazon formats and in-platform payments. It is weaker for agencies with high, steady creator spend, because the 8% fee grows with client orders, and white label links are limited to the $499 Max plan.
No. Client reports and client invoices are priced at the client rate you set for that account, never the creator's rate. That lets an agency mark up creator content without exposing the wholesale number.
JoinBrands says Roll Over Cash is kept while you stay on any paid plan and is lost if you cancel or downgrade to the free pay-as-you-go plan. Spend the balance on your final creator payments before you switch.
Three things. Its creator pool is far larger, it supports TikTok Shop lives and Amazon shoppable videos, and it handles creator payments inside the marketplace. Its agency page also offers your logo on dashboards and reports, which AgencyUGC does not.
