Short answer: For an agency, Billo is simpler and JoinBrands is usually cheaper. Billo sells finished videos at about $99 each with the creator included and quotes agencies privately. JoinBrands charges a plan ($99 to $499 a month) plus an 8% to 15% fee on each creator payment, with videos listed from $25. At 30 videos a month, JoinBrands Max costs less than Billo whenever your average creator rate stays under about $81.
Both show up on almost every agency's shortlist, and most comparisons of the two are written for a single DTC brand. An agency has a different problem. It buys content for five or ten clients at once, resells it inside a retainer, and has to keep each client's creators, files and costs apart. This comparison works through the numbers that matter for that. We build a competing product, so check every figure against billo.app and joinbrands.com/pricing before you sign a client.
Billo vs JoinBrands at a glance
JoinBrands prices were read on joinbrands.com/pricing on September 26, 2026. Billo's pricing page redirects to its customer login, so its per-video figure comes from public software directories and its agency rate is by quote.
| Billo | JoinBrands | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Per video, creator included | Monthly plan plus a fee on each creator payment |
| Entry price | About $99 a video; packs from about $500 | Free tier with a 15% fee; paid plans $99, $299 and $499 a month |
| Platform fee | None stated; built into the video price | 15% Free, 12% Start-up, 10% Pro, 8% Max |
| Monthly credit back | None | $30, $90 or $150 of rollover credit on paid plans |
| Creator rates | Set by Billo's price tiers | Videos from $25, images from $10, set with each creator |
| Agency pricing | Private offer, quoted against each client's monthly ad spend | Published; most agencies use Max for white label shareable links |
| Content types | Short-form video for paid social | Video, images, TikTok Shop, Amazon shoppable video, YouTube Shorts, TikTok Shop lives |
| Performance data | Creative benchmarks from its own ad dataset | Not a core feature |
JoinBrands wins on published pricing, content range and marketplace-seller formats. Billo wins on simplicity and on performance data: its agency page pitches a creative dataset built on 326,000 ads, which is useful when a client asks why one hook beat another.
Is Billo or JoinBrands cheaper for agencies?
JoinBrands is cheaper at low and mid creator rates, and Billo becomes competitive once creators charge more than about $80 a video. The reason is structural. Billo's roughly $99 includes the creator, so the price is fixed per video. On JoinBrands you pay the creator's own rate, plus the fee, plus the plan, so the total depends on who you hire.
Here is a five-client roster at six videos per client, 30 videos a month, on JoinBrands Max ($499 less $150 credit, so $349 net, plus 8%) against Billo at $99 and at the $150 directories report once add-ons are included.
| Average creator rate | JoinBrands Max total | Billo at $99 | Billo at $150 | AgencyUGC Plus total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $60 a video | $2,293 | $2,970 | $4,500 | $1,949 |
| $80 a video | $2,941 | $2,970 | $4,500 | $2,549 |
| $100 a video | $3,589 | $2,970 | $4,500 | $3,149 |
| $120 a video | $4,237 | $2,970 | $4,500 | $3,749 |
All totals include creator pay. The AgencyUGC column is our $149 Plus plan plus the same creator pay with no fee on top, shown for reference because it is the model we sell. It does not include what Billo and JoinBrands both do for you: finding the creator and handling the payment.
The breakeven moves with volume. At 30 videos a month the $349 JoinBrands plan adds about $11.63 per video, so JoinBrands wins below an average creator rate of roughly $81. At 60 videos a month the plan spreads to about $5.82 per video and the breakeven rises to about $86. If your clients want polished talent at $120 and up, Billo's flat $99 is the better buy, provided that price holds for your account.
What does Billo charge agencies?
Billo does not publish an agency price. Its agency page offers to package creator ads into retainers or performance plans and ends in a form, and the offer is quoted against each client's monthly social ad spend. That makes the per-video cost a function of your client's media budget, which is hard to write into a fixed retainer. The directory figures of $99 to about $150 a video are a starting point for a budget, not a quote. The full breakdown is in our Billo pricing for agencies article.
What does JoinBrands charge agencies?
JoinBrands lists four tiers: Free with a 15% fee, Start-up at $99 a month with 12% and $30 of rollover credit, JoinBrands Pro at $299 with 10% and $90, and Max at $499 with 8% and $150. Annual billing takes 10% off the plan. Most agencies land on Max because White Label Shareable Links sit only on that tier. On $10,000 a month of creator pay, Max works out to about $1,149 a month before creators. The tier-by-tier math is in our JoinBrands review for agencies.
Which is better for managing several clients?
Neither was built around a client roster, and this is where most agencies feel the friction. Billo is organized around the brand that orders videos, and its agency terms are negotiated per client. JoinBrands lets you run many campaigns under one account and share white label links on Max, but the fee still grows with every client's orders, so a client that doubles its content budget quietly doubles your platform fee too.
Three questions settle it for most agencies:
- Do you need the creator found and paid for you? Both do this. If you already have 20 to 50 creators you rehire, you are paying for a service you do not use.
- Is your client price fixed for the year? Then a cost that moves with client ad spend (Billo's agency offer) or with creator pay (JoinBrands' fee) will eat into the margin you priced in.
- Can the client see what you pay the creator? A shared link or report that shows a $70 creator rate turns your $250 client rate into a negotiation.
When to choose Billo
Choose Billo when your agency sells paid social creative to ecommerce brands, wants finished videos without negotiating with creators, and values ad-performance benchmarks when briefing. It is also the better buy when your clients want higher-tier creators, since the price does not climb with the creator's own rate. The honest downside is that you cannot see the agency price until Billo quotes you, which makes it hard to pitch a retainer before the quote arrives.
When to choose JoinBrands
Choose JoinBrands when your clients sell on TikTok Shop or Amazon, when you want images and several video formats from one marketplace, or when you hire creators in the $25 to $80 range. No other platform on most agency shortlists covers TikTok Shop lives, Amazon shoppable videos and YouTube Shorts under one plan. The downside is the fee on every creator payment, which never stops growing with volume.
A third option: a flat platform for agencies
If your team already has creators and runs its own briefs, the missing piece is not a marketplace. It is a way to keep ten clients apart and a platform cost that stays still. AgencyUGC runs a separate workspace per client for $49, $149 or $499 a month (3, 10 or unlimited clients), with no percentage of creator pay, and client reports and invoices show your client rate instead of the creator's. You agree rates and pay creators directly, which is the trade-off against Billo and JoinBrands.
Before any of these platforms can match creators well, the brief has to be good. If your team struggles to come up with fresh angles for the fifth client in the same category, it helps to brainstorm dozens of hook ideas for a single product before the brief goes out, then keep the best three.
